Awards for Fairview cheese

THE Fairview Wine and Cheese Estate recently received four medals at the prestigious World Cheese Awards.
Fairview’s medal haul included gold, silver and bronze medals at this internationally acclaimed cheese competition held at the Taste of London exhibition in Regent’s Park, London.
This year’s competition saw entries in 62 different cheese categories from across the globe, including the USA, Australia and New Zealand as well as every cheese-making nation from mainland Europe.
Fairview’s Bleu & Blanc received a gold medal, while silver went to Fairview’s 40% Reduced Fat Camembert and the Fairview Blue Rock collected a bronze medal.
According to Fairview’s marketing manager, Chris Davis, they are thrilled with their achievements at the World Cheese Awards.
“The Fairview Bleu and Blanc has been a consistent performer both locally and internationally and it is great to receive this top recognition.
“We are also really excited about the Fairview 40% Reduced Fat Camembert as it is a new product and it’s superb for this cheese to receive recognition in a category of cheese that is becoming increasingly high profile.
“With the shift towards healthier lifestyles and eating habits, good quality lower fat cheeses will continue to grow their share of the market.
“The blue cheese categories, on the other hand, are always hotly contested and we are proud to walk away with a medal.
“Blue Rock is a firm favourite with local consumers and it is excellent to be able to guarantee them that our products are amongst the best in the world,” says Davis.
Over 40 000 consumers indulged in the cheeses on show.
