2006-07-13
THE annual Tourism Youth Indaba started yesterday at Goudini Spa and will end on Friday. This gives future leaders in the tourism industry, between the ages of 18 to 35, the chance to voice their opinions.
The indaba is an endeavour by the Provincial Department of Economic Development and Tourism in partnership with Cape Town Routes Unlimited, the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) and the ATKV.
“Future Leaders in the South African Tourism Industry” is the theme of the indaba, focusing on the developing of skills.
The event is coordinated by Tourism Management students from CPUT and is hosted by radio DJ Mark Marshall.
Workshops, an excursion around the Breede River Valley and a gala evening form part of the event. Lynn Brown, MEC of Finance and Tourism, will also be attending and will speak to participants.
In addition to this, African Ablaze will make an appearance on stage to entertain the crowd.
