Gospel festival: The Cloetesville Wesley Guild Gospel Festival will take place on Saturday at 18:30 in the HB Thom Theatre, Stellenbosch. Entry is R25 per ticket, refreshments free.

Dance: Melanie’s School of Dance presents “Showcase”, an evening of dance and music, at Huguenot High School in Wellington on 5 August at 19:30. Tickets are R45 (students and children R35) from Sel.com in Church Street (tel 084-444-8867 or 864-2909).
Exhibition: Paintings by the artist Christo Coetzee are being exhibited at the gallery at Grande Provence in Franschhoek until the end of July. Also on show is an exclusive collection of old Cape Furniture.
Band: On Saturday 29 July the Jesse Jordan Band will perform at the Botriviera Live Venue in Bot River. Their intoxicatingly energetic shows have caused them to be a favourite with most people who have seen them performing live. For bookings contact Charlotte on (028) 284-9640.
Concert: International recording artist Nassiri will be at the Velodrome in Cape Town on 2 August in his “Love Sees No Color World Peace Tour”. The visually stunning concert performance will be in collaboration with South Africa’s finest choreographers, singers, dancers and musicians.
Exhibition: Works by the artists Conrad Theys, Francois Roux, Herbert Coetzee, Attie van der Colff and Johan Coetzee will be displayed until 9 August at the Arts Association of Bellville.
Shiraz Fest: Paarl Vintners’ wines can be enjoyed with local dishes at the “From Persia to Paarl” festival all day at the Nederburg auction centre on Saturday 19 August, with belly dancers and Richard van der Westhuizen as MC.
To Spit: The second series of Spit, Spitt II, featuring artworks in print portfolios of the Visual Art Department at the University of Stellenbosch, will be displayed until 5 August.
