Paarl sets example
2005-04-21
WE were amazed to read in the 17 March issue that 30 000 people of all races and creeds attended the three day Boland Summer Festival and that “there was a total absence of crime at this family festival”.
Perhaps therein lies the secret - that it was a “family festival”.
The institution of family with its hierarchy and moral value seems to be disappearing in other parts of the country, but not so in Paarl.
We commend all concerned and hope that other areas will follow the Paarl example for a better South Africa.
