Paarl swings into movie `action'

A GROUP of young people from Paarl and Stellenbosch have made their film debut in the movie ‘Luck’, a German family drama produced by Two Oceans Productions locally and Team Works Production Company from Germany.
The opportunity arose due to the fact that ACT III talent agency has opened its doors in the Winelands and is the first and only Artiste Agency of its kind outside of 50km radius of Cape Town.
The agency is run by Anthony Kampf, who is currently appearing in ‘Laugh out loud’ on MNet.
He says, “In the past, film companies brought their talent out from Cape Town at huge expense, requiring buses, packed lunches and minders.
“With ACT III now set up in the Winelands, we save them money and alleviate a major logistical headache.
“For this reason, ACT III’s artists are preferred for filming done out here.”
Anthony gives free basic training workshops to all of those who join ACT III so that all artists know what to expect and how to perform at castings and on film.
“We still need a large range of people of different ages and looks for our books, but we are slowly getting there,” says Anthony.
