Heritage Festival coming
2006-07-27
CELEBRATING who are and who we choose to be as a nation, is the theme for the Heritage Festival planned by the Drakenstein Municipality for Heritage Day, Monday 25 September.
This day’s programme will create an environment where different cultures complement one another.
The Municipality is looking for people who do hand-made quality crafts to have stalls at the festival.
They are looking especially for old-time, heritage crafts such as painting, quilting, embroidering, crochet, lace-work, knitting, board games, home-made cool drinks, wooden toys and other wooden crafts, pottery, ceramics, doll repair and doll making, beadwork, wirework, traditional foods, ribbon crafts, cake icing, leatherwork, tin crafts, baby wear, porcelain repair, baked sweets, metalwork and scrap materials.
Crafts must be hand made, not factory or shop made. No plastic, fireworks or modern crafts will be allowed.
All stall-holders will be charged a R50 fee.
Charities can apply for discount.
