Facelift for Paarl building

THE old Sakav building in Paarl, opposite Huis Vergenoegd in Main Street, is receiving a major facelift.
The building, constructed in the 1960’s, will be renovated and boast a modern glass facade and external lift once it is completed.
The building is being redeveloped by Van der Sluys Projects, for five clients, at a cost of R11 million.
The top floor has been purchased on a sectional title basis by the legal firm Jan S de Villiers, while the ground floor and the floor below ground level will be occupied by the former tenants (Metropolitan Health Open Plan and Medi-Health) as well as new tenants Advance Wealth Management and Dr Lismarie Bron (dermatologist).
Parking will be available at the front as well as at the rear of the building, which is to be completed by the end of October.
* A new residential apartment building, Paarl-on-Main, is to be erected on the vacant site directly south of the Sakav building at a cost of R53 million.
The project by Group 3 Properties will comprise of 62 modern apartments, with retail shops on the street front.
