Tri-nations challenge
2006-08-03
ONE of the wines selected to represent South Africa at the fourth Tri-nations Wine Challenge is the Anthony Smook 2004 Pinotage from Paarl. It is is one of only seven Pinotages selected to compete in the challenge.
Says judge Michael Fridjhon, “I was happily impressed with Smook’s 2004 Pinotage. It has none of the acetone notes that frighten off all but the must dedicated afficionados; just lovely perfumed almost Burgundian fruit, with ample, but not excessive weight on the palate.”
