Mafikizolo to sing at Paarl's Cultivaria Fest

PAARL will host the Cultivaria festival from 21 to 25 September - truly a fest for the whole of Drakenstein.
This cultural fest will also stage a variety of community shows, made possible by a donation from the Drakenstein Municipality.
On Friday 22 September the well-known group Mafikizolo will hit the stage at the Dal Josaphat stadium.
Together with the vibrant cast of the musical extravaganza, Out of Africa, and the beautiful girls of Jamali, they will render favourites like “Yours Fatally”, “Secrets” and “You Got Me”.
This will be an event not to be missed, all this for a mere R10 per ticket. All tickets can be purchased at Max Supermarket in Mbekweni. Other outlets will be anounced in the near future.
Only 10 000 tickets are available, due to security reasons.
There will also be food stalls and drinks, where visitors can quench their thirst before dancing, singing and partying into the night.
Also look out for Egoli actors like Krynauw, Louwna, Nenna, Bertie, Des and Dr Adam.
On Saturday 23 September the programme will start at 14:00 at the Dal Josaphat stadium and will feature an exciting list of artists like the Mighty Joy Singers from Mbekweni, the Lukhanyo Arts Company from Mbekweni, a jazz band, the Wiseman Doctrine reggae group, Christeline Dampies and the well-known television magician, Wolfgang Riebe, will bring magic to the stage. Entrance for Saturday is free.
On Sunday 24 September there will be a Gospel Show at the Gouda sportsfields. The show starts at 15:00 and will be free of charge.
Among the artists are Trevor Sampson, the Harmonians, the Christian Explainers, Vincent Peter, Phillipean, Chrystal, Donovan Isaacs and Eldon Pieters. No tickets required.
To celebrate Heritage Day on Monday 25 September, Drakenstein Municipality supported by Cultivaria will host a variety of shows at the Dal Josaphat Sports stadium.
Visitors can look forward to the talent of the Royal Stars Christmas Band, the Frank Pietersen Music Centre marimba band, Lukhanyo Cultural Singers from Mbekweni, the Essential Dance Company, ventriloquist Jannie de Bruin, a puppet show, Dennis the Clown, the Wellington Coons, Indian Dance Company, the Afro Jazz Band and to top it off the presence of Egoli stars.
Cultivaria will together with Drakenstein Municipality aim at extending the community programme in future to include every town in the Drakenstein area.
Furthermore it will be the aim to celebrate all cultures and languages and to make Cultivaria a truly multi-cultural fest.

The immortal Bee Gees
THE show Bee Gees Immortality is performed on Friday 22 September at 21:00, Saturday 23 September at 12:00, Sunday 24 September at 19:30 and Monday 25 September at 14:30 at La Rochelle (Sasko Hall).
In January 2003 the Bee Gees, as we knew them, ceased to exist. Maurice Gibb, one of the three brothers, died from cardiac failure.
His death gave rise to the idea of staging a musical tribute to one of the world’s most enduring popular music groups.
‘Immortality’ traces, through their music, the three decade history of Bee Gees hit sounds - from Spics and Specs in 1967 through to Immortality (the Celine Dion hit) in 2002.
Sixties pop precedes seventies disco, followed by eighties and nineties hits like I Surrender.
All are performed in the unmistakably distinct sound of the Bee Gees themselves.
Bringing the music of the Bee Gees to life, are Paul Buckby, Mark Richardson and Luciana Zuppa.
DNA Strings het 'n wenresep
DIE DNA Strings het oor die afgelope vyf jaar bekend geword as een van Suid-Afrika se beste instrumentele groepe.
Hulle tree op Maandag 25 September om 14:30 op by La Rochelle (Sasko-saal).

Laurika op 'n feesnoot
DIE gewilde sangeres Laurika Rauch tree op Vrydag 22 September om 20:00 en Saterdag 23 September om 20:30 by die Paarl Polisiekollege (Boland Kelder Ouditorium) op.
Gehore kan verwag om, onder meer, splinternuwe liedjies wat Laurika vir haar volgende CD voorberei te hoor, wanneer sy en haar pianis, Clinton Waring, by Cultivaria optree.
Haar eerste live DVD word ook in daardie tyd vrygestel en sal teen ’n spesiale feesprys beskikbaar wees.
Boheem!
DIE opwindende, nuwe klank van Zamar, saam met die strelende stem van Anna Davel is die perfekte kombinasie vir die diverse musiekprogram, ‘Boheem!’ wat op Saterdag 23 September om 16:00 by La Rochelle (Bokomo-saal) opgevoer word.
’n Kombinasie van Afrikaanse musiek met die polsende ritmes van Brasilië, Rusland, Spanje, Oos-Europa, Israel, die Ukraïene en Italië uitgevoer deur ses vroue van formaat.
Davel se oorspronklike komposisies uitgevoer deur Zamar gee geur aan Afrikaanse liedjies. Moet dit nie mis nie!
Dozi gaan 'rock'
DOZI en sy orkes “rock” op hulle eie manier in drie verskillende tale op Vrydagaand 21 September om 20:00 by Hoërskool Gimnasium (TygerBurger-saal).
Dozi sing van bekende berge, verskeie vervoermiddele soos ryperde en gedagtes vol heimwee en humor.
Dozi lig die dak met ’n feestelike verskeidenheid musiek en soos altyd gaan dit ’n onvergeetlike en spesiale ervaring wees vir feesgangers.
Die optrede bevat immergroen bekende liedjies asook opwindende nuwe liedjies, wat deur al Dozi se ondersteuners van alle ouderdomsgroepe geniet gaan word.
Dozi se orkes bestaan uit Leeroy Sauls op tromme, Ricus Nel op klawerbord, banjo en konsertina, Heath Fouché op kitaar en Theo Klassen op baskitaar.
