Lecture series: The Drakenstein Heritage Foundation is presenting an interesting programme during their annual lecture series, held every Thursday evening in August at 20:00 at the Hout Street Gallery. Tonight John Almond will discuss the unique plant life in the Karoo, and on 31 August Freddie Simpson will talk about the history of Pniel. Lectures cost R25 each (R80 for the series) including light refreshments.
Bible run: On Sunday 10 September the members of the Messiah Disciples Motorcycle Ministry will have a Bible Run to Paarl. They will start at N1 Engen at 09:00 and will drive to the Lewende Wingerde Bediening in Paarl. Entry is a Bible. For more, phone Essie on 072-985-2740 or Dirk on 083-563-2711.

Bring en braai: Die Drakenstein Biblioteek bied Saterdag om 18:00 ’n bring-en-braai aan by die Ikhwezi Gemeenskapsentrum in Daljosafat. Die afgelope Robbeneilandtoer se video gaan ook vertoon word. Angel workshop: Margi of Angel Connection is presenting a workshop in Cape Town on Karma and angels on Saturday. It is in the Erin Hall, 8 Erin Road in Rondebosch and will be from 10:00 to 16:00. Book with Margi on 082-563-7422.
Food and Wine Festival: The annual Food and Wine Festival in McGregor will be held on Saturday. The Festival will mark the centenary of the Village’s change of name from Lady Grey to McGregor. Organisers will include heritage culinary items on the menu, savoury and sweet traditional treats that reflect the Cape fare of the 20th century.
