Pothole petition planned

THERE has been sufficient public response to my “Potholes for Africa” letter of 27 July to warrant the publication of a “Pothole Petition”.
Perhaps those in support could add their names to the growing list of Paarlites concerned about the future of their vehicles and persons.
Call 083-702-2382 to “make a difference” to road safety in Paarl. Maybe our Municipality will heed concerted action.
Pothole enthusiasts could even map out the Paarl potholes for ignorant motorists, identify and name them.
The “Adopt a Pothole” campaign would certainly stir patriotic fervour in the bosoms of Paarl patriarchs.
I will sponsor the maintenance of the crater in the Main Street near my home which I would name the “Protea Pothole” being opposite our erstwhile cinema.
A “Pothole Parade” down Main Street could even be added to the forthcoming Cultivaria list of attractions!
