Koinonia wins award

2006-09-07

IN recognition of the role that Koinonia plays in community service, the organisation recently won the Cape Leg of the National Productivity Institute in the category service to the public.

They were nominated by Red Door Paarl.

After the nomination, a representative from the NPI visited the organisation and reviewed the different operations.

They were particularly impressed with the work done amongst the youth and the baking school.

“We are humbled and very excited about this award. It is a great honor and a motivation to work even harder to make the dreams of young people a reality,” says Eddie Williams, head of programmes at Koinonia.

Koinonia has been active in the Drakenstein community focusing on development of the youth for more than a decade.

The organisation focuses on providing information to youth, training and capacity building through information technology and offers advice on career counselling.

Their contact number is 872-9799.
