HERE’S an opportunity to sit back and slip into loose-limbed Gypsy Kings, Flamenco and Latin American sounds, whispered under the oaks.
On Sunday at 20:00 Waterpoel, just outside of Paarl, will give you a light meal and plenty of fire with a performance by virtuoso guitarist Bienyameen and Los Gitanos.
Here’s what Derek Wilson has to say about Bienyameen: “brilliant and a virtuoso on any plucked instument, fingers nimbler than speedy gonzales on amphetamines”.
Bienyameen is the musical director for the La Rosa Dance Company and leader of the Latin band Los Gitanos who shared the stage with world renowned groups like the famous Shakatak and Kaoma, the Lambada band from Paris.
