Classic at Cultivaria

SEVERAL classical concerts take place during the Cultivaria Festival.
Mozart Requiem: This concert takes place on Sunday 24 September at 19:30 in the town hall, in memory of tenor Deon van der Walt.
The Tygerberg City Choir, Canticum Novum and the University of Stellenbosch’s symphonic orchestra will perform under conductor Louis van der Wattt.
The Glenn Miller Orchestra SA: This orchestra, directed by Jonny Cooper, will perform on Friday 22 September at 21:00 (town hall).
Recognised Internationally as one of the finest copyists of the Glenn Miller sound, the Jonny Cooper Orchestra have become a household name here in South Africa as they perform to packed houses throughout the country.
Consisting of four trumpets, four trombones, five saxes, piano, double bass, drums and vocals, the orchestra replicates the 1938 civilian orchestra of Glenn Miller.
SwingTime at the Ballet: The exciting SwingTime at the Ballet will be performed on Friday 22 September at 19:00 (Boys’ High).
Sean Bovim showcases the diverse talent of the Cape Town City Ballet dancers by incorporating varied dance styles such as tap, jazz and big band show dancing.
Bovim takes the audience on a nostalgic journey through music and dance by using both instrumentals and vocals from artists such as Cole Porter, Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole.
