Open house on new project

TWO open house meetings to discuss the proposed develop-ment of luxury housing at Boschendal, will be held on 10 and 11 May in Kylemore and Pniel. Both meetings will be held from 16:00 to 19:00.
There will be no formal presentation, but a background information document will be available at the meeting.
Information will be presented in poster format and heritage specialists from Baumann and Winter Heritage Consultants will be available to answer questions and record heritage related issues.
The heritage consultants have been apointed to undertake a heritage impact assessment of the proposal, while the public meetings are being facilitated by Doug Jeffery Environmental Consultants.
The area to be developed is 35,8 hectares of the total 221,9 hectare farm.
It is proposed to consolidate and resubdivide a portion of the property into smallholdings of about 20 hectares each. The balance will be utilised in residential clusters on the footprints of existing buildings.
Also planned is a retirement complex and a privtae nature reserve. The Boschendal and Rhone farmsteads are to donated to a Trust for conservation.
The meeting on 10 May is at PC Pietersen Primary School in Kylmore, while the 11 May meeting is at the Pniel municipal office.
