Polio drops
2006-10-05
THE Department of Health has urged parents, guardians, caregivers and the general public to bring their children under the age of five years for immunisation at their nearest clinics from Monday to Friday 13 October.
To protect children against the polio virus, polio drops need to be given twice.
Children who miss the second round will not be fully protected against the virus.
Any child who develops sudden weakness of an arm of leg could have polio.
Such children are to be taken to the nearest health facility. For enquiries, phone the toll free number, 0800 111 408.
