New look for Grande Roche

New look for Grande Roche

2006-10-05

AN exciting new look awaits guests at the five-star Grande Roche in Paarl, with much care, effort and dedication having gone into the latest refinements to take the hotel into the future with flair and confidence.

The changes will be immediately evident as guests enter the 18th century manor house - home to the famous Bosman’s Restaurant - where the formal ambience has given way to a softer grey and white look, which although very different, retains the calming resonance of understated elegance.

The lounge area has been tiled, with furnishings complemented by the delicate grey and silver hues of the curtaining.

At Bosman’s Restaurant, which also boasts new table livery, guests will indulge in the epicurean delights created by executive chef Frank Zlomke.

Lightness and comfort are the guiding principles for the refurbishment programme of the hotel suites.

Six of the suites have already undergone a total transformation – all in a clean classical white – with new furnishings complemented by new, crisp white bedding, towelling gowns and bathroom towels.

Garnet Basson, who has been in the hot seat as general manager of Grande Roche for the last year and has been the driving force behind these changes, worked closely with the interior designer.

He says the emphasis has been on changing yet retaining the classical elegance and sense of place that has been a hallmark of the hotel since its opening 15 years ago.
