A PETROL attendant escaped death in the early hours of Saturday morning, when he was overpowered by robbers at Daljosafat Motors in Oosbosch Street, Paarl.
Three men approached petrol attendant Mzalisi Tshongo at 05:30 and requested that he fill a can with petrol worth R15.
Once the attendant had done this he took their money and walked to the door of the cashier’s office.
He was suddenly overpowered by the men who forced their way into the office.
The attendant inside the office, Templeton Dunjane, was beaten twice on the head with the butt of a pistol and was cut on the head and hand with a knife.
The robbers managed to escape with approximately R2000 in cash. Nobody has been arrested in connection with the incident.
