New chef for Grande Provence

Peter Tempelhoff, Executive Chef at the award winning ‘Automat’ in London, has joined the Grande Provence team to take over the position as Executive Chef from Vanie Padayachee.
Tempelhoff trained at the ‘Institute of Culinary Arts’ in Stellenbosch graduating top of his class and was awarded a bursary to study at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America.
Starting his career at Grande Roche, his enviable career credit list includes celebrated establishments such as London’s Quo Vadis, Hambleton Hall, La Rascasse Restaurant - affiliated to the restaurant at the Grand Prix circuit of Monaco – and Zafferano Restaurant.
From there, with the international experience gained over the years, he was asked to be part of the conceptualisation and opening team of ‘Automat’ in London.
The restaurant gained an instant applause and reputation with industry, media and public as being one of the coolest places to eat in London with some of the simplest yet finest food.
Awards followed such as ‘Top Table in London in 2005’ and nominated for ‘Restaurant of the Year 2005’ by Harpers and Queens Restaurant Awards.
