THE big frames of the former Springbok hooker and lock, Hanyani Shimange and Quinton Davids, will bamboozle the opposition on Boland Stadium from next season.
The services of these two players were acquired by the Fidentia Boland Cavaliers recently following the signing of their two year contracts.
This was confirmed by the newly appointed director for rugby at Boland, Rudy Joubert.
Both Davids and Shimange have traded their Western Province stripes for the black kit of the Cavaliers.
Former Rondebosch Boys' High pupil, Shimange, represented his country on nine occasions and also played for the Cheetahs and Stormers while Davids has five caps for South Africa and has made 37 appearances for Super 12 side the Stormers.
Two former Emerging Springbok players, Zolani Mofu and John Daniels, will also join Fidentia Boland next season.
Daniels started his career at Boland in 1998 and played 63 games for them, scoring an amazing 66 tries. He then moved to the Lions in 2002 and has played 48 games scoring 36 tries.
He also played 11 Super 12 games for the Cats (four tries), three times for the Stormers (two tries) and five games for the Bulls.
In 1998 he played for the Emerging Springboks against Wales and scored a hat-trick. He also represented the SA Barbarians.
Mofu was born and bred in the Border area of the Eastern Cape. He represented Border Craven Week, Border u.19, Border u.21, Emerging Springboks touring America and SA 7’s.
Besides these national representative players, Fidentia Boland has also signed contracts with former Griquas captain and prop Jané du Toit.
