POP the corks and fill the flutes and come and celebrate the ‘Magic of Bubbles’ in Franschhoek.
It’s all happening at the Franschhoek Nedbank Cap Classique and Champagne Festival, on the weekend of December 9 and 10, when the finest of South Africa’s Cap Classique and French Champagne will bubble over in the country’s gourmet capital.
The festival boasts of being the largest Cap Classique and Champagne Festival to date.
Showcasing the finest of South Africa’s Cap Classique producers as well as highly acclaimed Champagne Houses, this enchanting gala event promises to spill over with allure and enticement.
The festivities take place in the centre of the Village between noon and sunset. Entrance to the bubbly tasting is R135 per head and includes a Champagne flute tasting glass and a book of bubbly tasting vouchers.
No longer perceived as a drink reserved only for special occasions, but a chic replacement for the conventional alcoholic beverage, bubbly is spurting forth popularity with panache.
So, come along and sip the fizz of sophistication and style as Franschhoek comes alive with: vintage cars, music, beautiful people and, of course, the ultimate in cuisine: oysters, salmon, strawberries and foie gras are some of the treats that will be paired with the bubbly.
A shopper’s paradise, Franschhoek’s many boutiques will be opening their doors to Christmas shoppers and bubbly will be on sale throughout the revelry, a perfect Christmas gift.
In true Franschhoek fashion, the entire village is expected to bubble over with people, ambience and shimmering splendour.
