Music to their ears

THE prestigious German Tour Competition was held at the Frank Pietersen Music Centre recently.
On this occasion the 13 finalists who will tour Germany next year, were chosen.
These learners will have the opportunity to visit Berlin, Frankfurt and Dresden as part of the musical celebrations of the Gebruder Graun Music School in Ebe-Ulster, from 5 to 17 July 2007.
The participants impressed the adjudicators form Artscape with their personality, excellent technique and musical performance.
The African Percussion Ensemble from Frank Pietersen, comprising of Ayanda Boniswa, Simamkele Zantsi, Xolani Ndongeni and Abongile Gudula, were chosen to form part of the group.
Nathan Thomas on Trombone, Cavendy Cornelissen and Jennilee van Rooyen on Saxophone, as well as Claudine Hera on clarinet, will represent the Winds. Luca Hart, Felicia Salies and Felecia Roux were chosen on the violin, Emile de Klerk on the viola, with Pieter-Adriaan Stofberg on the cello.
