A NEW townhouse development of 80 units, called Paarl Vrede, is planned in Sanddrift Street, Paarl, on three hectares of land currently utilised for vineyards.
Doug Jeffery Environmental Consultants have been appointed by Carstens Plase and J van der Sluys to undertake an environmental investigation of the proposal. Copies of the Draft Basic Assessment Report are available at Paarl library in Mill Street and Drakenstein Public Library in Paarl East.

* A retirement village of 400 units is planned south of Paarl, between the railway line and the Santé Winelands estate.
The Rainbow retirement village will be located on 104 hectares currently used for chicken farming, with access from the Simondium road (R45). It is being developed as a gated village by the Louis Group.
The development will include a clubhouse, sick bay (50 beds) and winery on 30 hectares.
