Flyfishing Festival at Jonkershoek
2006-11-16
THE Jonkershoek Flyfishing Festival takes place at the Jonkershoek Fishery on Saturday.
Promised to be a flyfishing festival with a difference, it offers something for everyone - from the flyfisher to the supporter.
Entries are limited to 30 so booking is essential.
Entrants will fish for trout at the flyfishery and for bass in three mystery private bass venues under the expert guidance of local flyfishers.
The evening will be devoted to a trout cooking demonstration as well as a wine tasting of local wines under the guidance of John Platter Wine Guide taster, Meryl Weaver.
Thereafter sit back and relax with a glass of Extra Special Bell’s Whisky in hand to listen to local Matie students Billy de Jongh, Leonard Flemming as well as Dr Tom Sutcliffe tell “The tale behind the tails”, the story behind the images in South Africa’s very first Flyfishing Calendar.
The prize-giving will see each participant going home with a prize in the lucky draw.
R200 gets you in on the action with coffee, packed lunch, a selection of flies for the day, R50 tackle voucher to Suburban Tackle and a prize in the lucky draw.
Entry forms can be found online at www.jonkershoek.com/festival. html
