Who stole the orchestra?
2005-05-05
ON Saturday 21 May the Barnyard Theatre at Bridge House is hosting “Who Stole The Orchestra?”, written and directed by Ian von Memerty.
Take four of South-Africa’s best-known vocal artists, make a selection of great music, add one slightly bizarre writer, remove the orchestra and you have the recipe for “Who stole the orchestra?”
The artists in this group are well-known. The two girls, Karen Meiring and Bondina Osterhoff, both belong to the immensely popular all-girl à capella group Cutt Glas.
Karen is the soprano and imitates the flute and violin. Bondina is the contralto and does some great cello and hobo.
That leaves the two men: vocal acrobat Rory Rootenberg and velvet-voiced Charl van Heyningen. Rory does soprano and baritone with equal ease, and Charl thrills with bass and trombone antics.
Ticket price is R90 per person. Doors open at 18:30 and the show starts at 20:00. Book with Robyn Watkins, tel/fax 874-1505.
