World Aids Day

THE Drakenstein M-Sat (Multi-sectoral Action Team), formerly known as the HIV/Aids forum, is organising a programme for this week, with World Aids Day on Friday 1 December.
Today there is a programme at the Saron Clinic, starting at 08:00. At 10:00 the programme moves to the Dutch Reformed Church.
Tomorrow at 08:00 there will be a march from Paarl Shoprite to the Faure stadium, where a programme will commence at 10:00.
Mayor Charmaine Manuel will deliver a special message and there will be lighting of candles, as well as other guest speaker, dances and plays.
Sunday at 08:00 there will be a church service in the Ascension Church.
* The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport are organising two HIV & Aids Wellness Days in Drakenstein.
The first, on Wednesday, will be at New Orleans Secondary, from 10:30 to 13:00.
The second day is on Friday 8 December at the Mbekweni sports grounds.
The programme will be a fun one for the community, but the day will start with a workshop for learners where certain aspects around HIV/Aids will be covered.
