THE right arm fast bowler of the Paarl Cricket Club, Hilroy Paulse, has signed a contract with the Eagles until the end of April.

Paulse joined the club in September after attending the National Cricket Academy.

He was the mainstay of the club’s bowling attack until his departure last Monday. He has taken 21 wickets in nine matches thus far.

His best figures of 7/21 this season was in his final match for his club against Coronations of Pniel.

Paulse has been chosen to play for the amateur team of the Bloemfontein side this coming weekend.

The club has shown over the years that it is doing something to develop cricket in the valley as the club is always represented in the various Boland provincial teams on club and school level.

This year the club is again well represented in the various school teams of Boland Ussasa.

Robin Andrews, Clayton August, Dale Campbell, Ockert Erasmus and Tenyssen Botes will play for the Boland u.19 side in the Khaya Majola week that takes place in Stellenbosch this coming week. Botes is also the captain of the team.

Hein Adonis is selected for the u.17A side which played in the interprovincial tournament in Bloemfontein last week.

Another club member who plays for Paarl's fourth team is the young Kyle Solomon. He was also chosen to play for the Boland u.13 team in Oudtshoorn.
