Renovation of Dwars in die Weg

THE work on the multi-million rand redevelopment of an existing block of flats, Vooruitsig in Pastorie Avenue, by Johan Pauw of JEP Property Investments, has started. It will be known as Dwars-in-die Weg.
Flats will vary from bachelor flats for about R400 000 to larger flats of about R600 000.
The project will include the redevelopment of the building fronting onto Main Street, which is to be increased by two storeys for office rental.
Two older buildings, Kannaland in Pastorie Avenue, and the small barn which housed Rottang & Bamboes in Main Street, will be retained and renovated.
Parking for the project has been made available by the purchase of the southern section of the square in front of the Afrikaanse Taalmuseum by the developer.
