Caravan park developed
2005-05-12
PART of the Antoniesvlei holiday resort in Bain’s Kloof is to be sold by public tender for development.
Only the caravan park section of 6,7 hectares with ablution block is to be sold for development, subject to environmental guidelines.
When information leaked of tentative negotiations already on the cards, without the development being published for objections, inhabitants of Wellington were up in arms.
“There is talk of 70 housing units,” residents groaned.
“What will be done with the sewerage for which there is no connection to the municipal facilities?
“And how will the narrow Bain’s Kloof road cope with the additional traffic?”
Tender documents are now available from the head of property administration at Drakenstein Municipality (807-4621).
Tenders must reach the municipal manager of Drakenstein by 30 June. Objections to the sale must be lodged by 9 June.
