Boekpraatjies: Die eerste spreker vanjaar by Protea Boekwinkel op Stellenbosch is Amanda Botha. Sy gesels Saterdag om 11:00 oor ‘Marjorie Wallace - Drif en vreugde’. Amanda was verantwoordelik vir die saamstel van hierdie besonderse werk. Woensdag om 19:00 word Abraham de Vries se nuwe boek “Onder hoë sterre” bekend gestel. Die skrywer, sowel as Jan Vermeiren, wie se waterverftekeninge in die boek opgeneem is, sal teenwoordig wees. Cargo: Cargo can be seen in the Spier Amphitheatre at 20:00 on 2, 3 and 4 March. Cargo is the 7th in a series of inspired collaborations between two of South Africa's most exciting movement theatre companies, Jazzart Dance Theatre and Magnet Theatre. It uses performance to re-imagine the archive of slavery at the Cape and to bring it to the attention of a wider audience, while linking the past to our present reality. Both companies are renowned for their powerful and poignant work, destroying clichés and social stereotypes through the language of physical movement and expression. Directed by Mark Fleishman.
Memorial: A memorial concert will be held for Dietrich Wagner, late guitar lecturer at the Department of Music, at the Endler Hall, Conservatory, Stellenbosch University on Saturday at 20:00. Entrance is free, but it is necessary to reserve your seat on 021-808-2345. A donation box will be available in the Endler foyer for private donations towards medical expenses. Rockfees: Audiomatik Events hou die Ramfest dié by die Nekkies vakansie-oord op Worcester. Ramfest bring twintig van die land se top rock kunstenaars en bands bymekaar vir ’n naweeklange fees van harde rockmusiek. Die Saterdag gaan almal daar bevoorreg wees om een van die eerste Battery 9 gigs in ’n baie lang tyd te sien, en voor dit gaan Fokofpolisiekar, ManInSuit en 12th Avenue die stage sommer baie warm maak. Toneel: ‘Die Twaalfuurwals’ met Marius Weyers, Anna-Mart van der Merwe, Marcel van Heerden, Hanli Rolfes en Rolanda Marais, kan op 7, 8, 9 en 10 Maart gesien word.
Oude Libertas: Misa Criolla & Navidad Nuestra is op 14, 15, 16 en 17 Maart op die program, met Amanda Strydom en die Stellenbosch Libertas Koor onder leiding van Johan de Villiers en ’n orkes onder leiding van Janine Neethling.
Revue: Singing sensation Zenobia Kloppers can be heard in a her new solo music revue, ‘Black & Blue’, at the Durbanville Kunskafee from 18 to 21 March. The show is preceded by a specially designed 3-course set menu available to patrons who wish to wine and dine from 19:00 to 21:00.
