Mortgage loan company opens in Paarl

2007-03-08

THE doors to the new offices of the bond origination company, A Mortgage Loan, opened in Paarl on 27 February, showcasing the company’s commitment to not only the development of superior properties, but also a sensitivity towards the environment.

The historical building Rozenfontein at 113 Main Street, Paarl, is a worthy home for the group.

A Mortgage Loan grew out of ASLO Properties, the dynamic property development company based in Paarl.

The family of Anthony Smook, Managing Director of A Mortgage Loan, has lived in Paarl since 1910 and been active in property development as well as refrigeration and the wine industry.

Since 2003 the company’s developments extended to the offering of source bonds for cliënts and led to the realisation that this service could be extended to assist other independent developers, real estate agents and the general public.

Efforts paid off and A Mortgage Loan is now recognised by the major banks as one of the fastest growing originators in the Western Cape.
At the moment it is represented by four consultants in Paarl, with branches on the West Coast, George and Port Elizabeth.

Smook said expansion would be undertaken countrywide this year, aiming not only at growth, but to make it one of the most respected leaders in this business.

“From the outset,” he said, “the accent at A Mortgage Loan has been service and I believe we are respected for efficiency, credibilty and integrity.”

This is, among other achievements, reflected by superior properties in prime areas selected by the group along with innovative designs and quality building.

“What sets the company apart from the competition is a passion for property and commitment to the industry.”

With the head office move to Rozenfontein in Paarl, A Mortgage Loan has manifested its commitment to the conservation of this historic town’s architectural history.

The Georgian house, formerly a well-known restaurant, has now been painstakingly renovated with original-style sash-windows and gleaming woodwork.

The guest speaker at the official opening was JP Landman, SA’s leading trends analyst, whose ongoing research looks at macro trends affecting SA society.
