TV was not misleading

I WOULD like to thank the TV programme Morning Live for serving as an essential platform for the people of Mbekweni to have their voices heard.
In Paarl Post on Thursday 22 February the municipal manager, Dr Sidima Kabanyane, called the opinions expressed on the show “misleading”.
He does not want to hear the voice of the people. Instead he praises the emergence of housing projects in Mbekweni. He was also mum on providing figures for sanitation especially around Mbekweni station.
He slams the 75% estimate of unemployment in Mbekweni, but doesn’t tell us what is being done to ensure full economic participation of the masses of Mbekweni. Youth unemployment is a source of crime and moral decay, but he does not give any figures of his own.
Perhaps the researchers employed by the municipality are unqualified for their work?
We were taught to respect our elders, but he attacks “one senior citizen” for stating her opinion on TV. He said people should appreciate what has been done by the Municipality.
But she spoke the truth, because she said what has been done, is not enough. I agree.
