Support for women
2007-03-15
AHOS (Athlone House of Strength) is having a morning tea on Wednesday 28 March at 11.00 at their newly completed Shelter building, to celebrate the successful completion by 20 women of a computer course at Boland College.
They will also have an exhibition of the last support and therapeutic crafting group.
Women, particularly those who have been exposed to abuse and domestic violence, in the Paarl/Drakenstein area are invited to come and see what we have to offer.
Mothers and children: Two students from Holland will be running a three month project with the goal of promoting the relationship and bond between mother and child through introducing a new play-therapy programme.
Mothers (with children between the ages of 3 - 12) who are interested, are invited to the tea on 28 March to hear more about it.
This project will start in April. Please contact Fiona at numbers below if you are interested.
Child Care Centre: The Holland Child Care Centre, part of the AHOS One Stop Victim Empowerment Centre for abused women and their children, is also opening its doors as an Early Childhood Development Centre for children from 3 to 5 years (from 08:00 - 13:00) and after-school facility from 13:00 to 17:00.
