Labour blitz

THE Department of Labour in the Western Cape holds regular blitz inspections. They are visiting catering establishments this week to assess the compliance levels with the provisions of the Wage Determination as well as the provisions of the Unemployment Insurance Legislation and the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act relating to this sector.
The Inspections will allow for the scrutiny of all the required documents and records such as a copy of the Wage Determination, Particulars of Employment and Records of Remuneration that must be kept by employers.
The Provincial Inspection Blitz is be conducted by inspectors at the local Labour Centre. Phone 021-872-2020 for details of the requirements prescribed by the relevant legislation.
