Zola wins 10km Nite Race

THE eleventh annual 10km Nite Race, presented by the Drakenstein Correctional Services Athletics Club, took place in Paarl on Wednesday last week.
A large number of runners entered this event which started and ended at the Faure Street Stadium.
Thembelani Zola of Mbekweni (Mr Price WP) was the overall winner in a time of 32min12s and said that he thoroughly enjoyed the race. “The route was perfect and I feel very happy about winning the race,” Zola said.
“I ran with the group for the first five kilometres, but after that I broke away from the pack.
“In the end it was a very tight race because the runner behind me was quite close.”
Anton Faro (Wellington) finished second in a time of 32min13s with the first junior, Tom Lusaseni (MP Celtics), coming in third with a time of 33min06s.
Nomvuyisi Seti (Mr Price) was the first female to cross the line clocking in at 39min57s while Sollie van Rooyen, the first master, finished in 35min25s.
