Wines praised

After tasting a selection of 2006 CWG Auction wines for his highly respected “International Wine Cellar” newsletter, Steve Tanzer, internationally renowned wine judge, has awarded all wines an 89+.
He stated: “My scores should give you an idea of the consistently high quality level of the wines that carry the CWG label.”
The stars of the show were the 2004 Engelbrecht Els CWG Red, the 2004 Lourensford Limited Release and the 2006 Rudera Chenin blanc Noble Late Harvest.
Local wines which scored well were 2005 Bouchard Finlayson Reserve Pinot Noir, 2005 Glen Carlou Vineyards Chardonnay Reserve and the 2003 Thelema Mountain Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve.
