Do unto others as they are doing unto you

BRAVO! At last more citizens in Paarl are waking up to the atrocious conditions apparently condoned by the authorities in full view of passers-by and hallowed tourists along the scenic Berg River Boulevard going south.
I’m referring to the “permanent” residents in the graveyards, which accommodate our oldest and dear deceased residents, the patriots and initiators of our town.
Instead of flowers and vases, beer cans, bottles, plastic bags and human faeces grace the revered resting places of ancestors and children gone before us.
After spending close on R20 000 to safeguard the property of the Toringkerk against their invasion, the drifters moved shamelessly next door to the Holy Trinity site.
My advice is: remove their belongings, whether clothing, bedding, pots or pans, on a regular basis to the refuse dump, until they get the message and go elsewhere.
Otherwise you will probably have to provide them with “alternative housing” according to our laws, which are only concerned with those who do what they like.
Do unto others as they are doing unto you.
