Van der Walt up for Hogan

THE former Paarlite, Dawie van der Walt, who is currently playing golf for Lamar University in Norman, Oklahoma (USA), has been named as one of ten semi-finalists for the 2007 Ben Hogan Award.
The Hogan is seen as the most prestigious award in men’s college golf and takes into account all collegiate and amateur competitions played during the last twelve months.
Van der Walt leads the shortlist with a 70,89 season scoring average over 27 rounds. He shot par or better in 19 of the 27 rounds with ten rounds in the 60s and a season low of 66.
Three finalists will be named on May 2 with the award banquet on May 21 at the Colonial Country Club.
