Try Again wins tournament

A NUMBER of soccer clubs from Mbekweni took part in a friendly tournament against each other over the weekend.
After a series of round-robin matches, the two top teams in three groups qualified for the quarter-finals which were played on Saturday.
In the first match-up Rangers FC went head to head with Park United with Rangers securing a place in the semis with a 4-3 victory.
In the second quarter-final Mbekweni United faced Try Again FC.
After trailing 2-0 at half-time, United fought back in the second half and scored once to get back into the game.
Unfortunately Try Again’s defence was too strong which saw them go through to the next round.
Eleven Ideas FC and African Jaguars FC battled it out in the last quarter-final.
The Jaguars were unable to score which saw the team of Eleven Ideas go through to the semis on a wild card.
The semi-final was played on Sunday with Try Again and Rangers looking to go through to the final. In a closely contested match, Try Again won 1-0.
The final was played between Try Again and wild card finalists, Eleven Ideas. Try Again continued their consistent performance as they beat their counterparts 2-1.
