THE Boland Cycling Union recently held their trials at the Faure Street Stadium in Paarl, where a team of riders was selected to take part in the SA Track Cycling Championship taking place in Johannesburg this weekend.

The competition was tough in all the categories with cyclists from four clubs taking part in various events.

At the end a strong team was chosen for the national championship.

These riders also took part in the Boland Open Track Championships earlier this month as a warm-up for both the Boland trials and national championship.

The riders in the team are: u.10 - Luc Green (Yorkshire Cycling Club); u.12 - Graeme Ockhuis (Yorkshire); u.14 - Jaydé Julius (FGB Wheelers), Bradwin Daniels (Yorkshire) and Ralston van Niekerk (Rhadsport Cycling Club); u.16 - Clint Hendricks (Rhadsport), Avery Arendse (Yorkshire), Brandon Christians (Rhadsport), Abrey Hardine (Rhadsport) and Stuart September (Yorkshire); juniors - Grant Stuurman (Rhadsport), Robin November (Rhadsport), Gareth Albertus (Yorkshire) and Craig Symons (FGB); junior ladies - Natasha Marang (Yorkshire); elites - Ivano Siebrits (Maties Cycling Club), Bertram Siebrits (Maties), Lesley Snyders (Rhadsport) and Gershwin Vlotman (Rhadsport); veterans - Joseph September (Yorkshire); and veterans/masters - Willem Davids (Yorkshire).
