Italian duo in town hall

ON Wednesday, Paarl will be very lucky to host The Andrea Vettoretti and Corrado de Bernart guitar and piano duo from Italy in the Paarl Town Hall at 19:30. Entry is free.
This will be part of the Total Miagi Outreach in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture and the Frank Pietersen Music Centre.
Music by Tarrega, Rossini, Rodriguez and Astor Piazzolla will be performed by these two of Italy’s finest musical ambassadors.
Although most of the Total Miagi Festival concerts are in the big cities such as Cape Town, Johannesburg and Pretoria, the performers have especially requested to do their performance in a smaller town.
Classical guitarist Andrea Vettoretti is unanimously considered by the critics as one of the most important guitarists in Europe. He has won many international competitions and has been awarded a Classical Music Plaque in recognition for his artistic services.
Pianist Corrado de Bernart is at present the pianist/harpsichordist and artisic director of the chamber group “I Giovani Musici Italiani” and has played with numerous chamber orchestras in Italy.
He has toured throughout the world, done many recordings and has been awarded various prestigious awards. He is professor of piano and titular professor at the Conservatory in Lecce.
He is professor in harpsichord in the Department of Ancient Music in the same Conservatory.
