Feast of word and music
2007-05-10
A FEAST of music and the written word will be on the menu in Franschhoek this weekend.
The Franschhoek Literary Festival is hosting recently published and upcoming South African writers who will interact with international authors at informal talks, readings and discussions in intimate venues in the village centre.
Coinciding with the Literary festival will be the 3rd Franschhoek Autumn Classical Music Festival, with an innovative selection of music performances.
Festival-goers will be able to stroll through the streets, browse bookshops, attend book signings, enjoy poetry and music, and take part in the feast of participating restaurants and coffee shops.
Highlights of the Literary Festival will be readings and discussions by top SA authors.
This year’s music festival features a group of dedicated classical artists.
Recitals will be performed at venues such as La Motte, Le Fromagerie at La Grange and the historic NGK Franschhoek.
