Boland Super league launched

A BRANDNEW Boland soccer league with 28 teams was launched in Mbekweni on Saturday.
In celebration of the newly established Super league, organised by Safa Boland, some first-round matches were played.
Seebirds Football Club set the standard for what promises to be a tough competition by thrashing Dubuladula FC 7-3 in the opening game.
The encounter between Paarl Pirates FC and Paarl Soccer Club was a much closer affair with Pirates sneaking a 3-2 victory.
* Due to a shortage of fields, some of the matches were played on Sunday and the rest were finalised yesterday (Wednesday).
