Believe you can do it

BELIEVE you can do it. This is the inspirational message Demore Pretorius of Wellington has for the youth.

Demore, a motivational speaker and gospel singer will release his first single, entitled Crossroads, in the near future.

He says his passion lies with the youth and he intends on holding mega conferences specially aimed at the youth.

“Our journey into the land of success starts with our belief system. The words ‘I believe I can do it’ means I believe in the future destiny, vision. Believe in where you are going.

You can become the person woman/man you were born to be. You can accomplish the vision you saw.”

Demore is the eldest of three children. He received primary education at Wellington Primary and his high school education at Weltevrede High School.

One of the highlights of this music career was when he entered the Shell Road to Fame music competition in 1997 where he had been offered a contract with the famous Zizwe Zako who was also the producer of Rebecca Malope.

In 2004 he decided to do his diploma in theology at Nehemiah Theological College.

“Dr Scott inspired and motivated me to achieve greater heights. It was one of the defining moments of my career as a motivational speaker.

“I also had the opportunity to inspire and empower many youngsters in prison by giving motivational talks and clinics.

“In formative years I represented the Boland u.16 cricket team and I was also selected for the u.16 South African team. Later I represented Boland at u.21 level.

“After discovering my gift for motivational speaking, I became the motivational speaker for Roses Rugby Club. The time I spent with them was very productive as I helped them win the Boland Super A league, and to qualify for the national club championships.”

As far as his future in this field is concerned, Demore wants to become the motivational and sport psychologist for the Stormers rugby team, and ultimately the Springboks.

“To realize this dream I enrolled at Boston Business College for a diploma in psychology. I feel that this will aid me in becoming an excellent motivator and psychologist.

“As far as my ministry is concerned I am currently pursuing my dream of becoming a musician by recording my own CD.

“In the past I have been a part of the R&B gospel group Verzitile. The other members of the group are currently helping me to record my album. This CD will cater for both the secular and gospel markets.”

However, he first wants to release a single entitled Crossroads.

“In my career so far I also had the opportunity to work with the current Maties coach, and also the coach of the highly successful SA u.21 team, Pieter de Villiers. He is mentoring me in various fields, especially in terms of rugby psychology.”
