Old boys unite
2007-05-17
SUCCESSFUL businessmen, explorers, Springboks, farmers, teachers and other contributions to society, are achievements recorded in questionnaires returned by past pupils of Paarl Boys’ High School.
This information on past pupils, teachers, as well as persons and donors closely involved with the school from places as far-flung as Russia and Hong Kong, will be included in a publication celebrating the school’s 140th anniversary in July 2008.
“This record will be as comprehensive as possible,” Ms Babsie Truter, school librarian and compiler of the book, says: “I have more than 8900 ex-matriculants on the database and correspondence and e-mails have been sent to about 3300 persons to date.
“A disappointingly large percentage of Paarl questionnaires however, are still outstanding.”
A questionnaire can be obtained by phoning the school at 021–872-2875, fax: 021-872-5246 or Truter at 082-890-7371. E-mail copies can be obtained from: library@paarlboyshigh.org.za.
