Paarl buries Saints FC

THE Paarl Soccer Club had a bumper weekend filled with action. The over 35 team (Northern Suburbs LFA league) played against Ikapa Football Club on Friday evening at the Mbekweni Stadium.
The match started off at a fast pace with Ikapa dominating the proceedings early on.
Their efforts were rewarded when they netted two goals without response.
The Paarl side made two changes after half-time which had the desired effect on the play of the local side.
Kobus Dysel immediately converted an opportunity which boosted the morale of Paarl.
Johan Philander entered the fray by scoring a hat-trick and Dysel converted the last goal to make the result 5-2 in favour of the Paarl side.
The Super League side of Paarl played against Wellington Saints at the Weltevrede field on Saturday.
The game was a tight affair with the Paarl side coming out tops with a 3-1 victory.
Scorers for Paarl were Shamir Davids, Björn Cavernelis and Anthony Chapman.
* This coming Friday Paarl over 35 will be playing against Eastern Rovers at Elsbury Park in Matroosfontein. Paarl will play away at Esselen Park in Worcester on Saturday.
