Indoor arena opens

THE new Action Sports Arena held their grand opening on Friday at the Bergriver Business Park in Dal Josaphat.
Special guest, Shukri Conrad, coach of the Nashua Cape Cobras, attended the event while two soccer (men and women), one cricket and one netball game were played to celebrate the occasion.
In the match-up between the Badgers and Real Rizzlas (men) there were little to choose between the two teams as they ended with an 8-8 draw.
The women’s soccer game between Paarl Rhinos A and B was a closely contested affair with the A team taking the honours with a 14-9 victory.
The girls of the Western Province u.16 and u.21 netball teams went head to head in a fast-paced encounter. Although Province u.21 won the game 33-24, the younger girls more than stood their ground.
Paarl Lads and Blowhole battled it out in the only cricket game of the evening. The Lads managed to score 114 runs in their innings and restricted Blowhole to 72 for a 42-run victory.
