Calling all top enterprises

SMALL and medium enterprises countrywide are again invited to compete in this year’s prestigious Enterprise of the Year competition and stand a chance to win thousands of rands in prizes, and an opportunity for their business to receive national exposure.
Businesses will be judged in two categories, businesses with an annual turnover of more than R12 million (open category); and businesses with an annual turnover not exceeding R12 million (small business).
Each of the category winners will walk off with a first prize of R25 000. First runners-up will each receive R15 000, while the second runners-up will each receive R10 000.
The six finalists from the regions will be flown to Durban for the gala prize-giving event on 18 October.
Participation is free and open to all commercial and industrial companies that manufacture, or sell a product or service. Excluded are companies that are listed on a national or international stock exchange; or who are a government or semi-government enterprise; or in which government is a stakeholder.
It is also an opportunity for a branch of organised business, or a local chamber to nominate a business that is worthy of the title. If their nomination is the overall winner, the chamber will receive R5 000.
