Cab crowned king

ONE producer which is flying a royal flag with pride, is South Africa’s Wamakersvallei Winery in Wellington.
Their La Cave single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 is making waves on the competition circuit and recently clocked up some high profile accolades both locally and internationally.
In a review of the country’s top performing Cabernet Sauvignons Wine magazine awarded the Wamakersvallei La Cave Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 four stars in its April issue.
In this highly competitive taste-off, this classy Cab rubbed shoulders with other high profile names.
This elegant wine also notched up a Silver (Best in Class) medal at the 2006 International Wine & Spirit Competition, while the Wamakersvallei La Cave Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 also walked away with a Silver medal at the 2006 Veritas Wine Awards.
The same wine was singled out for a Diamond Award at the prestigious Winemakers’ Choice Awards in 2006, proving that even amongst the winemaking fraternity this Cab has the power to impress.
