Wine-maker starts young

THERE are lots of stories of wine-makers starting at an early age, but this has to be something of a record.
Shannon Lindhorst (4) of Lindhorst Wines near Paarl asked if she could make wine this year.
Her parents, Belinda and Mark, gave her some help but she has done much of the work herself.
She now has 30 litres of Merlot fermenting in the shower which will go into a miniature barrel in a couple of weeks.
Shannon is very committed to doing punch downs two or three times a day and looks forward to sharing her wine with friends once it is ready.
